Wellness Travel: What’s New
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately reviewing new retreats and speaking with partners about what’s coming later this year and into 2027. There’s still plenty of interest in longevity and preventative health, of course, but as we hit mid-year I’m also noticing more people looking for mental clarity, nervous system support, proper rest and experiences that don’t feel overly rigid or overwhelming.
A few of the retreats I’m sharing this month really reflect that as well, including the new specialty programs at Aro Ha and the return of THE PAUSE at Amanwana. Alongside those are a few of my long-time favourites including COMO Shambhala Estate and Kamalaya, plus a couple of retreats focused more specifically on burnout recovery and deeper restoration.
With that in mind, here are a few wellness retreats, offers and experiences worth highlighting about this month.

I’m excited to share that The Wellness Travel Expert has once again been nominated for World’s Best Wellness Travel Agency.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their wellness travel plans so far. I never take that for granted. You can read more here.

New Special Facilitators at Aro Ha Retreat
Food, Rhythm & Restoration with Sneh Roy
23 - 29 August 2026
Another beautiful addition to Aro Ha’s 2026 calendar is this retreat with Sneh Roy, centred around food, nourishment and reconnecting with the enjoyment of cooking again.
Sneh’s approach feels very warm and accessible. Less about restriction or wellness perfection and more about creating meals that genuinely support wellbeing while still feeling creative, comforting and enjoyable.
Throughout the retreat, guests will experience immersive cooking sessions, mindful eating practices and practical techniques that can realistically be carried home afterwards, alongside Aro Ha’s usual rhythm of movement, mindfulness and nature-based restoration.
Inner Leadership, Outer World with Peter Smith
5 – 9 October 2026
This new retreat with Peter Smith takes a grounded and practical approach to leadership and performance. Peter works with professionals and executives navigating high-pressure environments, combining neuroscience, systems thinking and leadership frameworks in a way that feels applicable to real life rather than overly corporate.
Guests will move through sessions focused on communication, decision-making, resilience and clarity, while still experiencing Aro Ha’s core pillars of movement, nourishment, mindfulness and nature immersion.
I think this retreat will resonate with people who are carrying a lot mentally. Business owners. Leaders. Professionals constantly making decisions for everyone else. The kind of people who need space to think clearly again, but still want to feel like they’re getting something tangible from the experience.
Upcoming Retreat Spotlight
THE PAUSE at Amanwana
Moyo Island, Indonesia
28 September – 3 October 2026
THE PAUSE returns to Amanwana later this year with another intimate wellbeing immersion focused on rest, sleep, movement and nervous system recovery.
What I like most about this retreat is that it is limited to a small number of guests, the programming feels considered rather than overfilled, and the setting itself does half the work. Moyo Island is incredibly remote and peaceful. You slow down naturally there.
This retreat tends to suit people who are mentally tired more than anything else. People who don’t necessarily want a highly clinical wellness program, but who know they need to properly step away for a few days and reset.

Where to Go in June:
BAWAH POWER: Nature Reset & Longevity Retreat
Bawah Reserve, Indonesia
4 – 9 June 2026
BAWAH POWER continues to stand out as one of the more unique luxury wellness retreats currently available in the region.
Set within the untouched islands of Bawah Reserve, this five-day retreat combines longevity-focused wellness with nature immersion in a way that feels relaxed, beautiful and genuinely restorative rather than overly structured.
Guests are guided through a rhythm of personalised spa treatments and thermal rituals at Aura Spa, movement and meditation practices, nourishing longevity-focused dining, and slower island experiences including ocean swims, snorkelling, kayaking and forest walks.
The retreat also includes personalised one-to-one wellbeing sessions, workshops focused on sustainable wellbeing and longevity, and dedicated retreat support throughout the stay.
What I particularly like about this retreat is the balance. It feels restorative and wellness-focused, but still connected to the experience of being somewhere truly special. You’re not just attending a wellness program, you’re immersed in one of the most beautiful natural environments in Indonesia at the same time.
Beat Burnout with Dr Libby
Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat
18 – 21 June 2026
Burnout recovery continues to be one of the biggest areas of interest I’m seeing in wellness travel at the moment, especially for people who are mentally exhausted, overstimulated or simply running on empty.
This upcoming retreat at Gwinganna with Dr Libby Weaver takes a more refined and science-led approach to stress, fatigue and nervous system recovery, combining nutritional science, hormonal support and emotional wellbeing in a way that feels both practical and deeply supportive.
Set within the quiet hinterland surroundings of Gwinganna, the retreat is designed to help guests properly step out of stress mode for a few days and reconnect with themselves again. Alongside seminars and guidance from Dr Libby, guests will also experience wellness activities, nourishing meals, restorative treatments and the slower pace Gwinganna does so well.
I also think these shorter retreats can work incredibly well for people who know they need support, but may not yet be ready for a longer or more intensive wellness program.
