RAKxa Wellness & Medical Retreat Review

Discover Bangkok’s first integrative medical wellness retreat with The Wellness Travel Expert and founder Samantha Lippiatt.

Opened in December 2021, RAKxa Wellness & Medical Retreat sits in a secluded location just outside of bustling Bangkok. Until I was able to visit myself I was skeptical about the location however it truly is a serene and lush green oasis, the RAKxa team planted over 4,000 trees here and while you can see the city skyline across the river, it feels a world away.

The 32-hectare property hosts Thailand’s first integrative medical wellness retreat with an on-site medical clinic run by Bangkok’s best hospital. The vibe here is peaceful, a space to recalibrate and breathe deeply. Perfect to rest and recharge. Wellness programs are personalised and include:

  • Accommodation

  • Health and wellness consultation

  • Wellness doctor consultation

  • Functional fitness assessment

  • Three wellness cuisine meals per person and per night

  • One time afternoon tea per person and per night

  • Complimentary mini bar in villa

  • Complimentary of general physical examination

  • Complimentary daily fitness and leisure activities

  • Complimentary access hydrothermal facilities including vitality pool, steam, herbal steam, infrared sauna, chill shower, experienced shower and cold plunge pool

  • Round-trip limousine transfer ( Airport – RAKxa - Airport )

  • Additional treatments as per your specific program and preferred goals

Cuisine & Accommodation

Beautifully presented and served as you would expect at a fine dining restaurant, most meals are served in Unam Restaurant, next to the outdoor swimming pool. There’s also the tea lounge and second restaurant (coming soon).

For breakfast, guests choose from a variety of western and Asian options designed as small plates so that you can sample a variety of dishes and the lunch and dinner menu change daily. We enjoyed that we did not have to make many choices of what to eat, knowing that our meals were designed around our specific goals and dietary requirements.

All of the spaces including the villas (garden and pool) have been gently infused into the surrounding green space with soft, neutral tones that blend with nature so as not create too much mental stimulation. The villas are spacious, the beds and furnishings are luxurious and the garden space is a delight to spent time in. Every villa also has two bicycles parked in the front garden for you to explore the property, buggies are also readily available or you can simply walk if you prefer.
